        |  | R E S O L U T I O N | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, John Nechman and Ricardo Ruiz of Houston were united | 
      
        |  | in matrimony on February 21, 2016, to the great delight of all who | 
      
        |  | know them; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, The couple began dating after first encountering one | 
      
        |  | another at a grocery store in 1996; since that time, their | 
      
        |  | relationship has blossomed, and they arranged to share their | 
      
        |  | wedding vows on the anniversary of the day that Mr. Nechman wrote | 
      
        |  | his partner a poem, which Mr. Ruiz still carries in his wallet two | 
      
        |  | decades later; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Born in South Korea, Mr. Nechman works as an | 
      
        |  | immigration law attorney in the firm of Katine and Nechman, while | 
      
        |  | Mr. Ruiz, who is originally from Colombia, teaches elementary | 
      
        |  | school; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Mr. Nechman and Mr. Ruiz have been blessed with a | 
      
        |  | relationship that has grown in love, respect, and understanding | 
      
        |  | with each passing day, and it is truly a pleasure to honor them as | 
      
        |  | they begin a new chapter of their lives together; now, therefore, be | 
      
        |  | it | 
      
        |  | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | 
      
        |  | Legislature hereby commemorate the Nechman-Ruiz wedding and extend | 
      
        |  | to the couple sincere best wishes for a lifetime of happiness; and, | 
      
        |  | be it further | 
      
        |  | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | 
      
        |  | prepared for Mr. Nechman and Mr. Ruiz as an expression of high | 
      
        |  | regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
