R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Amanda Richards of Graham received a 4-H Gold Star |
|
|
Award on July 30, 2016, at the Young County 4-H Gold Star banquet; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The highest county-level achievement award |
|
|
conferred by Texas 4-H, the Gold Star Award was first presented in |
|
|
1933 to recognize the hard work of exemplary 4-H members; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To qualify for the Gold Star Award, members must |
|
|
distinguish themselves by demonstrating leadership ability and by |
|
|
participating in one or more community service initiatives; in |
|
|
addition, recipients are required to belong to 4-H for a minimum of |
|
|
three years and to complete projects in three different areas of |
|
|
emphasis; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Ricky and Christine Richards, Amanda |
|
|
Richards is president of the Lone Star 4-H Club, and she also serves |
|
|
as the Young County 4-H council secretary; she shows rabbits and |
|
|
goats and judges livestock, and she has participated in the Duds to |
|
|
Dazzle, Food Challenge, and Nutrition Quiz Bowl programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her hard work and commitment to excellence, |
|
|
Amanda Richards has brought great pride to her 4-H club, and she may |
|
|
indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Amanda Richards on her receipt of a |
|
|
4-H Gold Star Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Richards as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
