R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Willard and Dianna Davis of Lorena |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 14, 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Davis met at Waco High School, and they |
|
|
married at the bride's home in Waco in 1967; the couple were blessed |
|
|
with four children, Kevin, Cyndi, Darrin, and Jill, and today their |
|
|
family includes nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Davis |
|
|
worked as a local truck driver for Roadway, and Mrs. Davis is |
|
|
retired from the Lorena Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
half century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Willard and Dianna Davis on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
