R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Texas Democratic Women are |
|
|
celebrating the 30th anniversary of their organization's founding |
|
|
in 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1987, TDW promotes local grassroots |
|
|
politics and the participation of women in the political process; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Federation of |
|
|
Democratic Women, TDW serves as a communication network for other |
|
|
Democratic organizations and hosts a number of statewide training |
|
|
conferences and workshops; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its outreach programs and its dedication to |
|
|
volunteerism and activism, the organization seeks to increase the |
|
|
influence of Democratic women in Texas politics and government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For three decades, the members of Texas Democratic |
|
|
Women have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the advancement |
|
|
of their ideals, and their contributions have made a lasting, |
|
|
positive difference in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 30th anniversary of Texas |
|
|
Democratic Women and extend to its officers and members sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
