A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the ownership of certain deer in this state. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 43, Parks and Wildlife |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 43.3511 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 43.3511. OWNERSHIP OF BREEDER DEER. (a) Except as |
|
|
provided by Subsection (c), a breeder deer is the personal property |
|
|
of a deer breeder if the breeder deer: |
|
|
(1) is held in accordance with a permit issued under |
|
|
Section 43.352; and |
|
|
(2) has been permanently and legibly tattooed in one |
|
|
ear with the unique identification number that is assigned to the |
|
|
deer breeder. |
|
|
(b) To the extent of a conflict, this section prevails over |
|
|
Section 1.011 or 1.013. |
|
|
(c) Subsection (a) does not apply if the deer is released |
|
|
into the wild from the deer breeder's facility. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
