SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 91
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Bill Murphey, who has retired after 20 years of
  outstanding service as the Brown County Veterans Service
  officer; and
 
         WHEREAS, Billy Murphey moved to Brownwood after serving the
  country with distinction for 20 years as a member of the United
  States Marine Corps; he retired from the military in 1995; and
 
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his career in veterans service,
  Mr. Murphey played a vital role in helping the area's combat
  veterans navigate the process of receiving their Veterans
  Affairs benefits and transitioning into civilian life; and
 
         WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he was also instrumental
  in the completion of the Central Texas Veterans' Memorial, a
  project which had lain dormant for several years; and
 
         WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and
  admired by veterans and area citizens, and his presence as the
  Brown County Veterans Service officer will be greatly missed;
  now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Bill Murphey on
  his exceptional service to the people of Brown County as veterans
  service officer and extend to him best wishes for continued
  success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
