SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 50
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Jose Ruth for his many years of exceptional service to |
|
|
the nation; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jose Ruth was born in Texas on August 10, 1941; he |
|
|
was a standout golfer in high school and a two-time district |
|
|
medalist and state qualifier; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Air Force in |
|
|
1961 and served with distinction for more than 21 years; while |
|
|
stationed at Offut Air Force Base in Nebraska, he met and |
|
|
married his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Alice Ruth; the |
|
|
couple has been blessed with three children, 10 grandchildren, |
|
|
and 11 great-grandchildren; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, After completing his active duty military |
|
|
service, Mr. Ruth continued to serve the nation by working at the |
|
|
Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha for 23 |
|
|
years; he retired in 2006; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jose Ruth has served his country with courage, |
|
|
honor, and an unswerving dedication to duty, and it is truly |
|
|
fitting that he receive special recognition for his exemplary |
|
|
career; now, therefore, be it |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jose Ruth for his |
|
|
service to the nation and extend to him best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
