R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Rebecca Minneweather of Fort Worth on July 24, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, One of five children, Becky Minneweather was born in
  1954 to Ray and Lillian Minneweather; she grew up in Fort Worth and
  attended I. M. Terrell High School, where she was a member of the
  iconic marching band; after graduating from Wiley College, she went
  on to complete a master's degree in early childhood development at
  the University of North Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Minneweather was a kind and caring person, and
  she especially loved children and senior citizens; she was employed
  for many years at the Sid Richardson Child Care Center for Harris
  Methodist Hospital, and she later became a social worker with the
  Project Reach Program of the Fort Worth Independent School
  District; recently, she had retired from the district after 26
  years of service; and
         WHEREAS, For 12 years, Ms. Minneweather served on the board
  of the McDonald Community YMCA; she was recognized as a life member
  of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and she was a longtime congregant
  of the First Saint John Cathedral; devoted to her numerous
  relatives and friends, she brightened their days with her
  thoughtfulness and playful, lighthearted ways; moreover, she
  provided wise counsel and firm guidance to many, and she knew how to
  coax laughter from the despondent and restore good cheer; and
         WHEREAS, While her loss is difficult to bear, Becky
  Minneweather enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to
  share in her love and friendship, and she will forever hold a
  special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Rebecca Minneweather and extend sincere sympathy to the members
  of her family: to her brother, Freddie Minneweather, and his wife,
  Felecia; to her sister, Clara Williams, and her husband, Timothy;
  to her nieces and nephews, Christen Williams, Taylor Jordan, Nivea
  Turner, Kaelin Harris, Danica Thompson, Dwayne, Tammy, Frita, Ray,
  Zarrell, and Detra Minneweather, Derek Powers, Taylor Brooks, and
  London and Kayleigh Floyd; and to her many other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rebecca
  Minneweather.
