R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Penelope Bankston has been named principal of |
|
Parkland High School in El Paso, and her appointment indeed merits |
|
special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, A highly regarded educator, Ms. Bankston brings a |
|
proven record of leadership and a wealth of knowledge to her new |
|
position; she began her career in 1994 as a bilingual elementary |
|
teacher in Alpine, and she has since served as a middle school |
|
reading teacher, high school dyslexia teacher, instructional |
|
specialist, and assistant principal; she has worked in Northeast El |
|
Paso for the past 18 years and most recently served as principal of |
|
Valley View Middle School; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Bankston is a graduate of Sul Ross State |
|
University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in |
|
interdisciplinary studies and master's degrees in reading and |
|
educational administration; and |
|
WHEREAS, Penelope Bankston's dedication and expertise have |
|
greatly benefited her students over the years, and the experience |
|
she has acquired along the way will serve her in good stead as she |
|
takes on the challenges and opportunities of this new assignment; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Penelope |
|
Bankston on being named principal of Parkland High School and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Bankston as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
