R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Larry Wainwright served with distinction as a member |
|
|
of the Collin College Board of Trustees from 2010 to 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Representing Place 3, Mr. Wainwright provided |
|
|
particular expertise as a member of both the Campus, Facilities, |
|
|
and Construction Committee and the Organization, Education, and |
|
|
Policy Committee; he demonstrated a strong commitment to meeting |
|
|
the needs of a rapidly growing student population and promoting |
|
|
academic excellence while maintaining an affordable tuition rate |
|
|
through prudent financial management and long-term strategic |
|
|
planning; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Wainwright brought to his role 25 years of |
|
|
experience as an adjunct business professor at Collin College, as |
|
|
well as an extensive background in the business community; a |
|
|
longtime agency manager with Farmers Insurance, he is the owner of |
|
|
Wainwright Real Estate and a member of the Allen Fairview and |
|
|
McKinney Chambers of Commerce; a graduate of Leadership Allen, he |
|
|
holds both a bachelor's degree and an MBA from the University of |
|
|
Arkansas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedication to the advancement of higher |
|
|
education, Larry Wainwright has greatly benefited the Collin |
|
|
College community, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
|
|
contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Larry Wainwright for |
|
|
his outstanding service as a trustee of Collin College and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Wainwright as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
