R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Eliot J. Walker of Dallas
  have suffered an immeasurable loss with his untimely passing on
  July 2, 2017, at the age of 36; and
         WHEREAS, Born on July 14, 1980, Eliot Walker graduated from
  Cornell Law School in 2006; that same year, he became an associate
  at the Austin law office of Dechert LLP, and he later practiced at
  Kane Russell Coleman Logan before joining Skiermont Derby in 2013;
  and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished career as an
  attorney, Mr. Walker gained experience in all phases of trial and
  appellate practice, undertaking cases ranging from commercial and
  financial services litigation to patent infringement and
  pharmaceutical liability issues; he was named a Rising Star by
  Super Lawyers, and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers
  recognized him as "One to Watch"; and
         WHEREAS, This notable Texan further gave of his time and
  expertise by providing vital legal aid to unaccompanied alien
  minors on a pro bono basis, and he served as a member of the steering
  committee for the 2012 DAYL Leadership Class project, which
  benefited public schools in south Dallas; in all his endeavors, he
  enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Sheila; and
         WHEREAS, Eliot Walker lived a caring and purposeful life, and
  he will forever be remembered with admiration and affection by
  those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Eliot J. Walker and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn
  his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eliot
  Walker.
