R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Andrew Rueda of Wellington High School achieved |
|
|
great distinction by winning the gold medal in the 2A boys' |
|
|
1600-meter run at the 2017 University Interscholastic League Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 13, Mr. Rueda turned in a |
|
|
notable performance, recording a time of 4 minutes, 26.08 seconds, |
|
|
to claim first place in the event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Andrew Rueda has ably |
|
|
represented his school, and he will cherish his memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Andrew Rueda |
|
|
on winning the gold medal in the 2A boys' 1600-meter run at the 2017 |
|
|
UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Rueda as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
