R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dominique Leh of Kirbyville High School has earned
  great distinction by winning second place in the University
  Interscholastic League 3A girls' singles tennis state championship
  on May 19 at Texas A&M University in College Station; and
         WHEREAS, A senior, Ms. Leh secured her spot in the title
  match by triumphing in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds in
  straight sets over opponents from Brady and Lago Vista High
  Schools, respectively; she then faced off against Sara Humpal of
  Corpus Christi London High School in the finale, where she put up a
  determined effort, but ultimately fell short; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Leh's fine performance during the 2017 season
  put the finishing touches on an impressive high school campaign in
  which she qualified for three consecutive UIL State Tournaments,
  marking the first time an individual athlete from Kirbyville High
  has attained such a feat in the same sport; and
         WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
  high school tennis athletes, Dominique Leh has ably represented her
  school, and she will cherish her memories of this outstanding
  accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Dominique Leh
  on winning second place in the 3A girls' singles contest at the 2017
  UIL Tennis State Tournament and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Leh as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
