R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Together We Stand Christian Church in |
|
|
Missouri City are celebrating the 21st anniversary of their |
|
|
church's founding on September 17, 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The church was organized on September 15, 1996, by |
|
|
its current bishop, the Reverend Allen Rice, his wife, Cheryl, and |
|
|
two other families, with early services being held in the Rice home; |
|
|
the congregation relocated to a 10,000-square-foot facility on |
|
|
Texas Parkway in June 1997, and after purchasing 10 acres of land on |
|
|
the same road, Together We Stand moved into its present sanctuary in |
|
|
2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, United by their shared faith and strong traditions, |
|
|
the members of this notable congregation have established a variety |
|
|
of commendable programs that foster fellowship and offer help to |
|
|
those in need; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Countless Missouri City residents have looked to |
|
|
Together We Stand Christian Church for spiritual guidance over the |
|
|
years, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring the church at this |
|
|
special time in its rich history; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 21st |
|
|
anniversary of Together We Stand Christian Church and extend to its |
|
|
members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
