R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Hall Electric in Victoria celebrated its 50th |
|
anniversary on July 13, 2017; and |
|
WHEREAS, Originally established in 1954, the Hall Electric |
|
Company was purchased in 1967 by Jodie and Jeanette Turek; the |
|
business grew steadily under their leadership, and in the 1970s, |
|
needing more space, the Tureks moved the store to its current |
|
location on North Navarro Street; today, Hall Electric is owned and |
|
operated by the couple's children, Stephen Turek and Stacey Turek |
|
Rather, while Jodie Turek continues to serve as company president; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, Hall Electric has provided |
|
commercial and residential electrical contracting services |
|
throughout the area, including for the emergency departments at |
|
Citizens Medical Center and DeTar Hospital, the Victoria Mall, and |
|
the Victoria County Courthouse; the Tureks have also opened two |
|
allied businesses, Hall Lighting & Design Center, which offers a |
|
wide range of lighting, furniture, and home décor, and Electrical |
|
Supply Warehouse; and |
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses play an |
|
important role in furthering the economic well-being of towns |
|
throughout the Lone Star State, and everyone associated with Hall |
|
Electric may indeed take great pride in the contributions the |
|
company has made to the Victoria community over the last five |
|
decades; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 50th |
|
anniversary of Hall Electric and extend to the Turek family and |
|
their employees sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Hall Electric as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
