Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Transportation was held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 AM. The following business was transacted:

 

The roll was called, and a quorum was established.

 

The Committee heard invited testimony on the following Interim Charges:

 

·         Review State Highway Fund grants and loans to Regional Mobility Authorities (RMA) and make recommendations if additional oversight procedures are needed to ensure the RMA's expenditures are a valid and accountable use of State Highway Funds.

·         Review current state and federal regulations, penalties and fines related to oversize and overweight vehicles and make recommendations to minimize impacts on the state's roadways and bridges.

All witnesses are shown on the attached list.

There being no further business, at 11:55 AM Senator Nichols moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
