Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:06 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Chair announced that the purpose of the hearing was to hear invited testimony regarding the business practices and regulatory structure of Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas and to investigate whether state or federal laws are being broken by Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas in regards to the donation and/or sale of fetal tissue, and to consider recommendations to strengthen regulations relating to the donation of fetal tissue by abortion providers.

The following persons provided invited testimony (see attached witness list).

Senator Kolkhorst assumed the chair.

Senator Schwertner resumed the chair.

There being no further business, at 1:24 PM Senator Kolkhorst moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
