Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Monday, March 23, 2015, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out SB 200 and recognized the author, Senator Nelson, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Schwertner sent up a committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Nelson to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed.

 

The chair laid out SB 202 and recognized the author, Senator Nelson, to explain the bill.

 

Resource witnesses providing testimony are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair laid out SB 204 and recognized the author, Senator Hinojosa, to explain the bill.

 

The chair laid out SB 207 and recognized the author, Senator Hinojosa, to explain the bill.

At 9:52 AM Senator Kolkhorst assumed the chair.

At 10:18 AM Senator Kolkhorst assumed the chair.

 

At 10:50 AM Senator Schwertner resumed the chair.

 

At 12:45 PM Senator Uresti assumed the chair.

 

At 1:46 PM Senator Uresti moved that the Committee stand in recess, subject to the call of the chair.

 

At 4:00 PM Senator Schwertner reconvened the meeting.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 200, SB 202, SB 204, SB 206, SB 207, SB 212, and SB 277 and testimony was resumed.

Witnesses testifying and registering on SB 200, SB 202, SB 204, SB 206, SB 207, SB 212, and SB 277 are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair closed public testimony on SB 200, SB 202, SB 204, SB 206, SB 207, SB 212, and SB 277. The bills were left pending.

 

There being no further business, at 5:08 PM Senator Taylor moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
