Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Economic Development was held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

At 4:34 PM Senator Estes called the meeting to order and the roll was called. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out SB 1220 and recognized the author, Senator Bettencourt, to explain the bill.

Senator Hall sent up a committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Bettencourt to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed.

 

At 4:51 PM the chair moved that public testimony be opened. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. The chair moved that public testimony be close; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

At 5:26 PM Senator Hall moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Hall moved that SB 1220 do not pass but that CSSB 1220 be reported to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Economic Development with the recommendation that it do pass. The motion carried with a record vote of two yeas and one absent.

 

There being no further business, at 5:27 PM Senator Estes moved that the Subcommittee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
