Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 23, 2015, and permission granted on May 23, 2015, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, at 4:25 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Cook; Craddick; Farney; Geren; Harless; Huberty; Kuempel; and Oliveira.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

SB 575

 

The chair laid out SB 575 as pending business.

 

Representative Harless offered an amendment to the measure.

 

The amendment was adopted without objection.

 

The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendment into a committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Farney moved that SB 575, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Cook; Craddick; Farney; Geren; Harless; Huberty; Kuempel (7).

 

Nays:                           Representative Oliveira (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Giddings; Farrar; Minjarez; Smithee; Turner, Sylvester (5).

 

At 4:27 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
