Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 21, 2015, and permission granted on May 21, 2015, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Herrero, at 12:59 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Herrero; Moody; Canales; Leach; and Simpson.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

SB 1086

 

The chair laid out SB 1086.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

The chair moved that SB 1086, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Herrero; Moody; Leach; Simpson (4).

 

Nays:                           Representative Canales (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hunter; Shaheen (2).

 

SB 1864

 

Representative Canales moved to reconsider the vote by which SB 1864 was reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Leach moved that SB 1864, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Herrero; Moody; Canales; Leach; Simpson (5).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hunter; Shaheen (2).
