Pursuant to a notice posted on May 21, 2015, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hunter, at 9:30 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Hunter; Alonzo; Cook; Geren; Giddings; Huberty; King, Ken; Price; and Rodriguez, Eddie.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

Representative Alonzo moved to place the following measures:

Representative Geren moved to place the following measures: 

 

on the Major State Calendar for Sunday, May 24, 2015:  SB 1.

Pursuant to Rule 3, Section 4 and Rule 6, Section 16 of the House Rules, the House Committee on Calendars proposes the following rule governing floor consideration of Senate Bill 1:

 

“Section 1. All original amendments that will be offered during second reading consideration of the bill must be filed with the chief clerk by 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015.”

 

Representative Hunter moved to adopt the proposed rule for floor consideration on SB 1. The motion prevailed without objection.

 

Representative King, Ken moved to place the following measures: 

 

on the Constitutional Amendments Calendar for Sunday, May 24, 2015:  SJR 1.

 

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Hunter; Alonzo; Cook; Geren; Huberty; King, Ken; Price; Rodriguez, Eddie (8).

Representative Hunter moved to adopt the proposed rule for floor consideration on SJR 1. The motion prevailed without objection.
