Pursuant to a notice posted on September 12, 2016, the House Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Otto, at 10:05 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Otto; Ashby; Bell; Bonnen, Greg; Burkett; Capriglione; Howard; Johnson, Jarvis; Raney; Rodriguez, Justin; Sheffield; Thompson, Laura; VanDeaver; and Walle.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The Chair made opening remarks.

The Committee took testimony on Interim Charge 8: monitor the ongoing implementation of SB 20 (84R) and Article IX, Sec. 7.12 of the General Appropriations Act, HB 1 (84R). Study trends in state contracting as developed by the Legislative Budget Board and recommend new and/or modified strategies to ensure all contracting is executed in a transparent and judicious manner.
