Pursuant to a notice posted on April 22, 2016, revised on April 22, 2016, the House Committee on Appropriations - S/C on Article III met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Ashby, at 1:05 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Ashby; Giddings; Howard; Phelan; Raney; and VanDeaver.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

Examine the formulas used to fund institutions of higher education. Study the initial development of the formulas and the underlying assumptions used. Make recommendations for new discipline weights, if necessary, evaluating any discrepancies in formula funding for the same program offered at different types of institutions and the inclusion of new medical schools on general academic campuses.

At 3:28 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
