No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Government Code to allow the Governor to declare limited-purpose disasters. The bill would provide certain limitations to the suspension of laws and rules upon declaration of a limited-purpose disaster. The bill would authorize the establishment and operation of certain search and rescue task forces. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving two-thirds majority vote in each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
The Office of the Governor indicates that any costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
