HB1080 by Hughes (Relating to the definition of a state judge for purposes of state driver's license and personal identification laws.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 521 of the the Transportation Code to add statutory probate court judges and certain associate judges to the list of judges defined as "state judge."  It is assumed any costs associated with implementing this legislation can be absorbed within existing agency resources.  This bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each chamber; otherwise, this bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
