IN RE:
HB923 by Flynn (Relating to the issuance of 36th Infantry Division specialty license plates and souvenir license plates.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to issue specialty license plates for persons who have served in the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard, including a souvenir version of the plate.
There would be no fee for a regular set of the new specialty plates. Under current law, the fee for issuance of a single souvenir plate would $20. Based on the analysis of DMV, it is assumed the bill would not result in a significant impact to the state's cash flows and any costs or duties associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
