SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 709
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the Cutting Edge Youth Summit hosted by the University |
|
|
of North Texas at Dallas on April 18, 2015; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the |
|
|
Cutting Edge Action Research Center, which conducts research in |
|
|
schools, communities, and nonprofit organizations and works to |
|
|
promote college readiness, career development, social justice, |
|
|
and global citizenship; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit features a wide |
|
|
range of seminars and workshops for students and includes |
|
|
sessions for parents, community leaders, and local citizens; |
|
|
topics offered for discussion include financial aid, the college |
|
|
application process, and the importance of being a global |
|
|
scholar; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit helps students gain |
|
|
the skills they need to become leaders in their schools and |
|
|
communities, and it is truly deserving of special recognition; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |

|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the organizers of the Cutting Edge |
|
|
Youth Summit on their commitment to promoting academic |
|
|
excellence and extend to all associated with this exceptional |
|
|
event best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
|
honor of the Cutting Edge Youth Summit. |
