SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 519
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize April 8, 2015, as Texas Home School Day at the Capitol;
  and
         WHEREAS, This special event is sponsored by the Texas Home
  School Coalition, which was established in 1986 with the mission
  of serving and informing the home school community and promoting
  home education in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Texas Home School Day at the Capitol provides
  families from across the state with an opportunity to meet with
  elected officials and discuss issues of importance regarding
  home education; it offers students the opportunity to learn the
  details of legislative procedures and the importance of citizen
  participation in the political process; and
         WHEREAS, Texas has one of the most favorable environments
  in the country for home education, and more than 120,000 families
  throughout the state have chosen this method of schooling for
  their children; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Home School Coalition on
  its exemplary efforts on behalf of home education and extend to
  all those associated with Texas Home School Day at the Capitol
  best wishes for a memorable experience; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
