R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Robstown High School baseball team enjoyed an
  outstanding 2015 season, capturing the district championship and
  advancing to the regional quarterfinals of the University
  Interscholastic League 4A playoffs; and
         WHEREAS, The Cotton Pickers closed out the regular season
  with a 4-1 win over Rockport-Fulton High School on April 28 to claim
  the District 31-4A crown and the school's 27th league title; the
  team then began its exciting postseason run with two dominating
  victories over its bi-district opponent, Port Isabel High School;
  and
         WHEREAS, Matching up against Hondo in the following round,
  Robstown won Game 1 of the series by a score of 5-4 before clinching
  the area championship with a five-run triumph in Game 2; that earned
  the Cotton Pickers a place in the Region 4 quarterfinals, where they
  took the opening contest against Sinton High, thanks to a no-hit
  pitching performance by Jesse Ray Garcia; the Robstown players put
  forth a determined effort in the final two games of the series, but
  they ultimately fell short to bring their memorable season to a
  close; and
         WHEREAS, Ably guided by head coach Elias Vasquez and
  assistant coaches Rudy Gonzalez, Trey Hernandez, and Roland
  DeAlejandro, the Cotton Pickers finished the 2015 campaign with an
  impressive overall record of 24 wins and just 6 losses and benefited
  from the valuable contributions made by each member of the roster;
  and
         WHEREAS, These talented student-athletes demonstrated hard
  work and an unwavering commitment to excellence over the course of
  the season, and they may reflect with pride on a job well done; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Robstown High School baseball
  team on its notable accomplishments during 2015 and extend to the
  team's athletes and coaching staff sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
