R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the West Texas A&M University Enactus |
|
team visited the State Capitol on January 29, 2015, to film footage |
|
for their documentary on synthetic drugs; and |
|
WHEREAS, On that day, the team interviewed State |
|
Representative Four Price and his staff on his work in preventing |
|
the sale and consumption of synthetic drugs in Texas, and it also |
|
filmed the Borger Youth Advisory Council delivering resolutions |
|
denouncing the harmful substances to legislative offices; the |
|
footage is featured in the team's upcoming documentary, the trailer |
|
of which premiered at the 2015 Enactus United States National |
|
Exposition in St. Louis; and |
|
WHEREAS, Members of the WTAMU Enactus team who participated |
|
in the Capitol visit are Fatima Barrera, Veronica Carrillo, Haley |
|
Gouard, Taylor Vampran, Ashley Russell, Kelsey Pruett, Shelby |
|
Walker, Valena Perez, Dayren Tolliver, Nick Lynch, Jose Ramirez, |
|
Mario Rodriguez, Juan Paiz, Elliott Teller, Dustin Ratheal, Adriana |
|
Gallegos, and Emily Gross; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through their film, these dedicated activists are |
|
raising public awareness of a serious issue facing the Lone Star |
|
State, and it is a pleasure to recognize them for their |
|
public-spiritedness; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the West Texas A&M University |
|
Enactus team on its documentary about the dangers of synthetic |
|
drugs and extend to its members sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
