R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Citizens of Robstown will mark a special milestone |
|
|
in 2015 when they celebrate the grand opening of the community's new |
|
|
city hall and municipal complex; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Located near the site of the former city hall |
|
|
building, the facility is the first in Robstown's 107-year history |
|
|
to be designed solely for this purpose; ground was broken for the |
|
|
building on March 21, 2014, after the project received financial |
|
|
support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development |
|
|
Program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to providing city council members and |
|
|
other officials with an improved meeting space, the |
|
|
17,500-square-foot structure will house the city and utility |
|
|
administrative offices, the City Health Department, City Code |
|
|
Enforcement, the City Inspection Department, and the municipal |
|
|
court, and it will serve as a command center for the community in |
|
|
the event of a disaster or other emergency; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The impressive new complex will no doubt be a |
|
|
significant resource to the citizens of Robstown, and it is a |
|
|
pleasure to join in recognizing the vision, leadership, and hard |
|
|
work that have helped bring the project to fruition; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the opening of the Robstown City |
|
|
Hall Complex Facility and commend all those who have contributed to |
|
|
this worthy endeavor. |
