R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Jane Chapman Owen of Houston on May 22, 2015, at the age
  of 77; and
         WHEREAS, The former Jane Chapman was born in San Antonio on
  November 25, 1937, to John Ople and Nancy Jane Chapman; while a
  student at W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, she met the love
  of her life, Kenneth Owen, and they were joined in marriage in 1957;
  over the course of nearly six decades together, their family grew to
  include three children, Dian, Elise, and David, and three
  grandchildren, Grey, Camille, and Alexander; and
         WHEREAS, After graduating from The University of Texas at
  Austin, Mr. and Mrs. Owen returned to Corpus Christi to build a
  home; an enthusiastic supporter of her community, Mrs. Owen served
  as a trustee for the Una Chapman Cox Foundation for many years and
  volunteered her time in behalf of her children's schools, the Art
  Museum of South Texas, and the Robert L. Moore Community Center, a
  day care and after-school facility for families in need; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Owen enjoyed spending her leisure time
  traveling with her loved ones, listening to classical music,
  cooking, hiking, skiing, and gardening; later in life, she
  delighted in cultivating beautiful gardens on the steep slopes of
  the family's mountain home in Colorado; and
         WHEREAS, Jane Owen lived a life that was rich in family,
  friends, and service to her community, and those who were
  privileged to share in her love and affection will forever hold her
  close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jane Chapman Owen
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Kenneth Owen; to her children, Dian VanDeMark, Elise
  McClain, and David Owen; to her grandchildren, Grey VanDeMark and
  Camille and Alexander McClain; to her sister-in-law, Louise
  Chapman; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jane Owen.
