R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Proud residents of Robstown are gathering for the
  31st annual Cottonfest, which is taking place from October 9 to 11,
  2015, at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the City of Robstown and the Robstown
  Area Development Commission, this highly anticipated festival
  celebrates the region's proud history of cotton and vegetable
  farming; some of the proceeds from the festival will help fund
  scholarships for local students; and
         WHEREAS, Cottonfest activities include a barbecue cook-off
  and the Jackpot Fajita Contest, as well as a parade, carnival rides,
  and live music performances by popular Tejano artists and other
  cultural bands; the event culminates on Sunday with the Cottonfest
  Car Show, where vehicles are judged in 10 categories; and
         WHEREAS, For more than three decades, this signature event in
  the life of Robstown has delighted both residents and visitors
  alike by providing myriad opportunities for fun and fellowship;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 31st annual Cottonfest in
  Robstown and extend to the festival's organizers and participants
  sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable event.
