R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Waylan
  J. Brannan Sr. of Victoria, who passed away on May 1, 2015, at the
  age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, Waylan Brannan was born in Bynum on November 18,
  1931, to Herbert and Ola Brannan; he grew up with three brothers,
  Woodrow, Melvin, and R. C., and three sisters, Margie, Lillian, and
  Inez; he went on to share his life with the former Bonnie Holstien,
  and they became the parents of four children, Charles, Robert,
  Bonnie, and Waylan; with the passing years, their family grew to
  include 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brannan answered his nation's call to duty
  during the Korean War and joined the U.S. Air Force; upon completion
  of his military service, he cofounded the Brannan Paving Company
  with two of his brothers and successfully operated the enterprise
  for many years; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Brannan served as
  president of the local YMCA and on the boards of the American Bank
  of Commerce and Citizens Memorial Hospital; he was also a valued
  member of the Victoria Masonic Lodge No. 40 and a dedicated
  congregant of Northside Baptist Church; in his leisure time, he
  enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with his loved ones; and
         WHEREAS, Waylan Brannan treasured the time he spent in the
  company of his family and friends, and those he leaves behind will
  in turn cherish their memories of this kind and caring man; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Waylan Brannan and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Bonnie Brannan; to his children, Bonnie Vollmering and her
  husband, Shawn, and Waylan J. Brannan Jr.; to his sister, Margie
  Halpain; to his 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and to
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Waylan J.
  Brannan Sr.
