R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jane Santa Cruz has ably served her fellow Texans as |
|
|
an intern in the office of State Representative Joe Moody during the |
|
|
84th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Santa Cruz has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling many challenging tasks, especially |
|
|
those related to juvenile and criminal justice policies; in |
|
|
addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |
|
|
valuable experience in the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Ms. Santa Cruz currently is |
|
|
pursuing a master's degree at The University of Texas at Austin |
|
|
Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs; after graduation, she |
|
|
plans to focus her efforts on closing the achievement gap for |
|
|
low-income students; she holds bachelor's degrees in history and |
|
|
Spanish from Hendrix College in Arkansas and previously worked with |
|
|
the nonprofit organization City Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Jane Santa Cruz for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Joe Moody |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all |
|
|
her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Santa Cruz as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
