R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Robinson High School Symphonic Band performed at |
|
|
the University Interscholastic League State Wind Ensemble Festival |
|
|
held in Austin on May 2, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The UIL State Wind Ensemble Festival is a unique |
|
|
event designed to showcase the top music programs in Texas; |
|
|
participants are invited to play for a live audience in a formal |
|
|
setting and subsequently participate in a clinic directed by a |
|
|
nationally recognized conductor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Guided by director Bob Vetter, the Robinson High |
|
|
School band had the honor of performing a program at the Bates |
|
|
Recital Hall at The University of Texas at Austin; the experience |
|
|
was made even more special when oboist Kaylah Williamson and |
|
|
tubaist Austin Vetter were selected from the ensemble as |
|
|
Outstanding Performers and were presented with gold drape medals; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An invitation to perform at the UIL State Wind |
|
|
Ensemble Festival is a testament to exceptional talent, hard work, |
|
|
and an unyielding commitment to excellence, and this achievement by |
|
|
the Robinson High School Symphonic Band is a source of great pride |
|
|
to the entire community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Robinson High School Symphonic |
|
|
Band on its performance at the 2015 UIL State Wind Ensemble Festival |
|
|
and extend to its members and director sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the ensemble as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
