R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dee Scott retired from the Clear Creek Independent
  School District Board of Trustees in May 2015, drawing to a close an
  outstanding decade-long tenure with the board; and
         WHEREAS, Since first winning election to her seat in 2005,
  Ms. Scott has been instrumental in a number of initiatives to
  improve the quality of education for area schoolchildren, including
  support for the construction of new school buildings and the
  establishment of community service projects to benefit at-risk
  students; she oversaw the launch of the highly successful Leaders
  Make Readers elementary school program and played a significant
  role in the fund-raising effort to ensure that all seniors at Clear
  View High School could walk across the stage in graduation gowns;
  she has also shared her expertise with elected officials tasked
  with developing more effective educational policy; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply engaged in the wider community as well,
  Ms. Scott has held leadership positions in the League City Chamber
  of Commerce and the North Galveston County YMCA, and she was
  pivotally involved in the creation of the First Leadership League
  City Group; the longtime owner of Dee Scott Insurance Agency in
  League City, she has served as vice president of the League City
  Economic Development Corporation and has received a host of awards
  for her participation in the local Rotary Club; and
         WHEREAS, Through her unwavering commitment to Clear Creek
  ISD, Dee Scott has contributed greatly to the success of many young
  Texans, and she may take justifiable pride in a job well done; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Dee Scott on her retirement from the Clear
  Creek ISD Board of Trustees and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Scott as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
