R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Britton Carter has been named salutatorian of the
  Class of 2015 at Atascocita High School in Humble, and he indeed
  merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor;
  and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; in securing his place as one of the two
  top-ranking students in his class, Mr. Carter demonstrated a
  thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his
  attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement
  of a notable high school career; and
         WHEREAS, The son of proud parents David and Joetta Carter,
  Mr. Carter has succeeded in balancing his challenging academic
  course load with extracurricular activities; he has lettered on the
  Eagles' baseball team and is a valued congregant of the Humble
  Area's First Baptist Church, where he has participated in student
  leadership and mission trips to Slovakia; the recipient of an AHS
  Sports Booster Club Scholarship and an Elks Legacy Award, he will
  attend Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in business
  management, and he plans to one day enjoy a career as a pastor; and
         WHEREAS, During his years at Atascocita High, Britton Carter
  has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and
  classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability and commitment
  to excellence have opened the way to a bright and promising future
  for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Britton Carter on graduating as
  salutatorian of the Atascocita High School Class of 2015 and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the
  next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Carter as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
