R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Britton Carter has been named salutatorian of the |
|
Class of 2015 at Atascocita High School in Humble, and he indeed |
|
merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; in securing his place as one of the two |
|
top-ranking students in his class, Mr. Carter demonstrated a |
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his |
|
attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement |
|
of a notable high school career; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of proud parents David and Joetta Carter, |
|
Mr. Carter has succeeded in balancing his challenging academic |
|
course load with extracurricular activities; he has lettered on the |
|
Eagles' baseball team and is a valued congregant of the Humble |
|
Area's First Baptist Church, where he has participated in student |
|
leadership and mission trips to Slovakia; the recipient of an AHS |
|
Sports Booster Club Scholarship and an Elks Legacy Award, he will |
|
attend Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in business |
|
management, and he plans to one day enjoy a career as a pastor; and |
|
WHEREAS, During his years at Atascocita High, Britton Carter |
|
has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and |
|
classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability and commitment |
|
to excellence have opened the way to a bright and promising future |
|
for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Britton Carter on graduating as |
|
salutatorian of the Atascocita High School Class of 2015 and extend |
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the |
|
next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Carter as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
