R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Susan Xu has been named salutatorian of the Class of |
|
|
2015 at Kingwood High School, and she indeed merits special |
|
|
recognition for receiving this significant honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the two |
|
|
top-ranking students in her class, Ms. Xu demonstrated a thorough |
|
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her attainment of |
|
|
this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable |
|
|
high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her time at Kingwood High, Ms. Xu was a |
|
|
member of the National Honor Society, the Mu Alpha Theta |
|
|
Mathematics Honor Society, and the orchestra program; she has |
|
|
garnered a number of scholarships for her success in the classroom, |
|
|
and she plans to attend Harvard University, where she will pursue a |
|
|
major in applied math and computer science; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Shiyu and Hejuan Xu, Susan Xu has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence |
|
|
have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Susan Xu, salutatorian of the |
|
|
Kingwood High School Class of 2015, and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting |
|
|
chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Xu as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
