R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The life of an admired coach drew to a close with the
  passing of Que Brittain of Argyle on March 29, 2015, at the age of
  68; and
         WHEREAS, Born on November 27, 1946, Que Brittain lettered in
  football at Sulphur Springs High School and subsequently played as
  an offensive guard at Southern Methodist University for three years
  in the late 1960s; he went on to pursue a career in coaching,
  gaining experience at McKinney and Euless Trinity High Schools
  before becoming the offensive line coach at Lewisville High School
  in 1978; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brittain was named head coach at Marcus High
  School in Flower Mound in 1986; over the course of his 14-year
  tenure in that position, he compiled an impressive record of 108
  wins and 62 losses and guided the Marauders to eight postseason
  berths; he first took his team to the state final in 1995, when
  Marcus finished as runner-up; two years later, his players claimed
  the school's first and only football state championship to date,
  and the Marauders' 59-20 victory against Alief Hastings High School
  set the record for the most points scored in a 5A title game; and
         WHEREAS, Following his retirement from the Lewisville
  Independent School District in 2000, Mr. Brittain was tapped as
  head coach at Skyline High School in 2002, and he led the team to the
  playoffs in each of his three seasons at the helm; he was later
  hired as an assistant coach at Dumas High School by his former
  colleague Mike Burt, and the two men went on to coach at Joshua High
  School during the 2013 and 2014 seasons; and
         WHEREAS, Que Brittain served as a mentor, motivator, and role
  model to countless young athletes in North Texas, and his legacy
  will forever remain a source of inspiration for those who had the
  good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Que Brittain and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family and to his
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Que
  Brittain.
