R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Vicky Pink of Houston marked a special milestone in
  her life with the celebration of her 50th birthday on March 11,
  2015; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Ms. Pink was born in 1965 and
  raised in the Kashmere Gardens neighborhood, where she graduated
  from Kashmere High School; after receiving her associate's degree
  from West Los Angeles College, she transferred to the University of
  Houston and earned her bachelor's degree in communications with a
  concentration in radio and television; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Pink currently serves as the chief photographer
  for Houston Style Magazine, in addition to operating her own
  business, VP Productions, and she has seen her work published
  locally, nationally, and internationally; in addition to managing
  the many demands of her career, she gives generously of her time and
  talents as a board member for the University of Houston Black Alumni
  Association and the Northeast Cultural Arts Council and as vice
  president of print for the Houston Association of Black
  Journalists; she also mentors students, not only helping them to
  advance in their craft but providing vital assistance in time of
  need; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic woman is a valued parishioner at
  St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where she serves as co-chair
  of the lectors ministry; deeply devoted to her family, she takes
  great pride in her three children, Jasmine, Amir, and Kailah, her
  son-in-law, Maurice, and her two grandchildren, Hazel and Austin;
  and
         WHEREAS, Widely admired for the passion she brings to her
  work and for the generosity of her spirit, Vicky Pink may reflect
  with pride on the accomplishments she has realized thus far in her
  life, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in honoring her on this
  memorable occasion; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Vicky Pink on her 50th birthday and
  extend to her warmest best wishes for continued success and
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Pink as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
