R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Grayland Arnold of Kountze High School received |
|
|
well-deserved recognition when he was named Most Valuable Player of |
|
|
the 2015 Super Gold Basketball team by the Beaumont Enterprise; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A junior guard, Mr. Arnold enjoyed a stellar |
|
|
campaign, averaging 24 points, 6.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.9 |
|
|
steals per game, as well as recording three triple-doubles, en |
|
|
route to leading the Lions to a 33-7 record and a trip to the |
|
|
University Interscholastic League 3A state semifinals; moreover, |
|
|
he earned District 23-3A MVP honors, and he served as a leader and |
|
|
mentor to his younger teammates; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This multitalented young Texan is a standout on the |
|
|
Kountze football squad as well, and his skills on the gridiron have |
|
|
earned him a scholarship to continue his athletic career at Baylor |
|
|
University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The hard work and commitment to excellence of |
|
|
Grayland Arnold have been rewarded with this prestigious accolade, |
|
|
and he may take justifiable pride in his accomplishments as he looks |
|
|
ahead to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Grayland Arnold on his selection as |
|
|
the 2015 Super Gold Basketball MVP and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Arnold as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
