R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life has drawn to a close with
  the passing of E. E. Allen Jr. on March 4, 2015, at the age of 87;
  and
         WHEREAS, "Junior" Allen was born in a log cabin on October 19,
  1927, to Ebbie E. Allen Sr. and Ida Lena Marquart Allen, and he grew
  up in a family of eight children in the small ranching and farming
  community of Peach Creek, near College Station; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Allen became a rancher, and for many years he
  ran a cow-calf operation; in the early 1970s, he and his friend,
  Marshall Crenshaw, started a small weekly rodeo in Peach Creek, and
  in 1976, Mr. Allen began to breed bulls selectively as rodeo
  animals, specifically for their bucking potential; and
         WHEREAS, This vocation became his primary business, and many
  of the bulls Mr. Allen bred over the years were later well-known on
  the professional bull riding and rodeo circuits, including 777
  Sling Blade, 40 Exodus, 00 South Point, 99 Shake & Bake, and 02
  Texas Blues; he continued to train bulls at his ranch until nearly
  the end of his life; and
         WHEREAS, A man of great determination, warmth, and kindness,
  Junior Allen devoted his years on this earth to ranching and the
  sport of rodeo, and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to
  inspire all those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of E. E. Allen Jr. and
  extend sincere condolences to his sister, Barbara Ann Albrecht, his
  sister-in-law, Ruth Allen, and his nieces and nephews; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of E. E. Allen
  Jr.
