R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, After 57 years of cutting hair, Manuel Lozano Sr. of |
|
Georgetown retired from City Barber Shop on December 24, 2014; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Lozano served with the United |
|
States Marine Corps in the Korean War, and after coming home he |
|
worked in construction; desiring a job that didn't depend on the |
|
weather, he learned how to cut hair in Houston and then took on the |
|
job of military barber at Fort Hood; eventually, he returned to |
|
Georgetown and opened his own barbershop on Ninth and Rock Streets; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Lozano joined City Barber Shop 17 years ago and |
|
earned the loyalty of many customers during his time there; he |
|
enjoyed getting to know his clients and delighted in being able to |
|
brighten someone's day by giving them a quality haircut; before |
|
retiring, he gave his last haircut to his seven-year-old grandson, |
|
Kaden; and |
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with a fine family, Mr. Lozano is the |
|
devoted husband of Virginia Lozano and the proud father of four |
|
children; now that he has stepped away from his barber's chair, he |
|
is looking forward to spending more time with his loved ones and to |
|
getting some well-deserved rest and relaxation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Manuel Lozano's dedication to his work and |
|
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited his patrons over |
|
the years, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his nearly |
|
six-decades-long career in the barber's profession; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Manuel Lozano Sr. on his retirement |
|
from City Barber Shop and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Lozano as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
