R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her dedicated endeavors as the founder of |
|
|
the Lake Highlands Military Moms, Rhonda Russell has set an |
|
|
inspiring example of patriotism and civic engagement; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Russell established the Military Moms |
|
|
organization in 2006, following the deployment of her son, Staff |
|
|
Sergeant Lee Russell; a member and former president of the Lake |
|
|
Highlands Exchange Club, she has worked with that group on a number |
|
|
of programs, including a breakfast honoring returning troops and |
|
|
the production of the annual Lake Highlands Military Heroes Poster; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lake Highlands Military Moms has also assembled care |
|
|
packages for service members abroad; local elementary school |
|
|
students have participated in this effort, which involves sending |
|
|
letters of encouragement to the troops; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rhonda Russell has raised public awareness of the |
|
|
sacrifices made by those who serve in our nation's military, and her |
|
|
efforts in behalf of those brave individuals and their families |
|
|
have earned her the respect and admiration of her fellow citizens; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Rhonda Russell for her contributions as |
|
|
the founder of the Lake Highlands Military Moms and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future. |
