AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the amount that may be donated by contract by certain |
|
|
populous counties to crime stoppers or crime prevention |
|
|
organizations. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 351.901(b), Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The commissioners court of a county by contract may |
|
|
donate money to one or more crime stoppers or crime prevention |
|
|
organizations for expenditure by the organizations to meet the |
|
|
goals identified in Subsection (a). The total amount of all |
|
|
donations made in a calendar year may not exceed: |
|
|
(1) $25,000; or |
|
|
(2) $100,000, for a county with a population of one |
|
|
million or more. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
