Amend HB 910 on third reading by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
SECTION ____. Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 411.2035 to read as follows:
Sec. 411.2035. MUNICIPAL REGULATION OF OPENLY CARRYING HANDGUN. (a) Subject to Subsection (b), the governing body of a municipality with a population of more than 750,000 may adopt an ordinance prohibiting a license holder from openly carrying the license holder's handgun within the boundaries of the municipality.
(b) The governing body of a municipality described by Subsection (a) may adopt an ordinance under that subsection only if a majority of the municipality's voters voting at an election held for that purpose approve a proposition to authorize the governing body to enact the ordinance.
