The committee will hear invited and public testimony on the following topics:

ˇ                Interim charge #1: Assess the level of preparedness among critical infrastructure entities, state and local emergency planning organizations, first response efforts, and overall coordination of jurisdictions across the state. Include a review of the state's role in preparing, resourcing, and coordinating with local emergency response, specifically in rural areas or areas that depend largely on volunteer response efforts.

 

ˇ                an update regarding ongoing border operations;

 

ˇ                updated draft legislation regarding the Driver Responsibility Program; and

 

ˇ                updated draft legislation regarding the storage of ammonium nitrate and the authority of first responders to inspect and respond to safety concerns.

 

The committee may address other interim charges or topics of interest.

 

Public testimony may be limited to three (3) minutes.
