Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Rule 1, Section 16, Texas House Rules and Rule 11.03, Texas Senate Rules a public hearing of the Joint Select Committee on Oversight of Higher Ed Governance, Excellence & Transparency was held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in E1.030.

Co-chair Representative Dan Branch called the meeting to order at 1:40 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

Senator Seliger and Representative Branch shared presiding duties.

Senator Seliger presented the committee rules and Senator Zaffirini moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

Representative Branch introduced house members and made opening remarks.

Senator Seliger then introduced senate members and made opening remarks.

The co-chairs then took questions from committee members.

There being no further business, at 2:00 PM Representative Branch moved that the Committee be adjourned. Without objection, it was so ordered.
